Serdar Berdimuhamedow, president of Turkmenistan, signed more than 50 decrees and resolutions on dismissals and appointments to state posts on February 13.
Deputy prime ministers Mämmetkhan Chakyev, Bayramgul Orazdurdiyeva, and Batyr Amanov were relieved of their posts, with no reasons specified. They were replaced by Batyr Annaev, former head of the Turkmen Maritime and River Transport Agency; Batyr Mammedov, former rector of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction; and Guvanch Agajanov, former chairman of the State Concern Turkmenneft.
Several other heads of ministries and agencies were also dismissed.
Myrat Mammedov was relieved of his duties as minister of health and medical industry in connection with retirement. He was succeeded by Myratberdi Gaipov. The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan oversees this sector.
Charygeldi Babanyazov was dismissed as minister of environmental protection, and replaced by Ovezgeldi Goshdjanov at the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.
Begmyrat Ataev was removed as chairman of the State Association of Food Industry of Turkmenistan. He was replaced by Bayramdurdy Tejenov.
By presidential decree on February 14, Nazar Atagaraev was dismissed as minister of national security due to a transfer to another job. The Ministry of National Security of Turkmenistan is now headed by Dovletgeldi Meredov.
In addition, a Ministry of Automobile Roads of Turkmenistan was created on the basis of the State Agency for Management of Road Construction. It is headed by Hangeldi Kerimov.
Ashyrguly Begliyev was relieved of his post as presidential adviser on oil and gas in connection with retirement.
Berdimuhamedow also replaced the hyakims (city heads) of Turkmenbashi, Turkmenabat, Mary, and several districts.
