President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov announced that over the past five years, the country has increased its export of IT services to the United States forty-fivefold. He made the statement at the “Central Asia–U.S.” (“C5+1”) summit held on November 6 in Washington, the presidential press service reports.
Japarov specified that in 2024, Kyrgyz IT specialists exported services to more than 63 countries worldwide, totaling $130 million. The United States accounted for the largest share, representing 40% of the total IT exports. Companies based in Silicon Valley (California) were especially active in this trade, he added.
The president emphasized Kyrgyzstan’s strategic focus on high technology and artificial intelligence. Initiatives are underway to develop the digital economy under the slogan “Live in Kyrgyzstan — Work with the World.” The country was also among the first in the region to adopt a Digital Code, creating favorable conditions for investment in the sector.
These efforts are paying off. The IT and creative economy sectors are growing rapidly. According to the international index by Chainanalysis, Kyrgyzstan ranks 19th globally in cryptocurrency adoption and usage.
Given these developments, Japarov proposed a U.S.–Kyrgyz partnership in digital regulation, including innovation in RegTech (regulatory technology). He also suggested establishing a regional RegTech hub, the RegTech Trust Hub, in Kyrgyzstan.
In his address, the president outlined additional key areas for cooperation with the U.S., including the economy, investment, tourism, hydroenergy, and security. Japarov expressed appreciation for the significant contribution of U.S. President Donald Trump to global stability and conflict resolution in various regions.
The second “C5+1” summit was held on November 6 in Washington under the chairmanship of U.S. President Donald Trump. Participating heads of state included: Kazakhstan — Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan — Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan — Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan — Serdar Berdimuhamedow, Uzbekistan — Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
