The Fifth Company from Uzbekistan Falls Under EU Anti-Russian Sanctions

The Uzbek company Trade Engine System was included in the European Union's 17th package of sanctions against Russia. The sanctions list was published on the official EU website.

Trade Engine System is engaged in the wholesale trade of electronic and telecommunication equipment and spare parts. It was registered in 2022. The director and founder of the company is listed as Nasirjan Akbarov.

This is the fifth organization from Uzbekistan to fall under EU sanctions as part of the pressure on Russia following the start of the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. Since 2023, the sanctions lists have included Alfa Beta Creative LLC, GFK Logistics Asia LLC, Mvizion LLC, and since February 2025 — UZSTANEX LLC. The lists also include four companies from Kazakhstan and two from Kyrgyzstan.

A total of 75 individuals and legal entities from Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, China, Turkey, the UAE, Serbia, and Vietnam were included in the 17th sanctions package.

Earlier, a number of Uzbek companies and entrepreneurs also fell under U.S. Treasury sanctions. In particular, Ahangarancement and representatives of Alisher Usmanov’s company USM.

Ukraine has also included Uzbek companies in its sanctions lists. In addition to Ahangarancement, these include Mercury Renaissance, which is engaged in the rental of construction equipment; Raw Materials Cellulose, which produces wood pulp and cellulose; and Farg'ona Kimyo Zavodi (Fergana Chemical Plant for Cotton Cellulose Production), registered under Mercury Renaissance. Additionally, the President of Ukraine imposed personal sanctions on Rustam Muminov — one of the founders of Mercury Renaissance, who holds dual citizenship in Uzbekistan and Russia.
