Botir Kudrathodjayev has been appointed Uzbekistan’s Minister for Emergency Situations. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree on February 25, according to presidential press secretary Sherzod Asadov.
Before his appointment, Kudrathodjayev served as Deputy Prosecutor General and Military Prosecutor of Uzbekistan. His career has included posts as Prosecutor of Surxondaryo and Khorezm regions, Prosecutor of Tashkent, and Director of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement under the General Prosecutor’s Office.
In conjunction with his new role, Kudrathodjayev has been awarded the rank of Major General.
He succeeds Abdulla Kuldashev, who held the ministerial post for three years following his appointment in March 2022. No official reason has been provided for Kuldashev’s dismissal.
