In Kazakhstan, government officials will face penalties for failing to execute the president's orders. The corresponding changes were made by President Kassym-Jomart Tokaev to the decree «On Certain Issues of Public Service,» according to KazTAG.

Under the updated document, disciplinary action may be imposed on political civil servants for «failure to execute or improper execution of orders from the president, as well as from the leadership of the presidential administration based on the head of state's directives.» Other grounds for penalties, including abuse of office, violation of service discipline and ethics, and non-compliance with laws, remain unchanged.

Tokaev's decree takes effect from the date of its signing.

In light of this new measure, Ulysmedia.kz recalled the president's recent directives. Recently, he met with Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov, assigning him the task of improving law and order and public safety in the country. Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov was instructed by Tokaev to enhance cooperation with domestic defense enterprises, develop territorial defense, and strengthen special operations forces. Additionally, on November 22, the president directed the prime minister, the head of the presidential administration, leaders of all security agencies, and akims to take urgent measures to ensure the safety of key military and civilian facilities due to the escalating situation surrounding Ukraine.
