German Chancellor Olaf Scholz Arrives in Uzbekistan for Official Visit

At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz arrived in Uzbekistan for an official visit on September 15, 2024.

The head of the German government was greeted at Samarkand airport by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan J. Khodjaev and other officials.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev awaited the European guest in the center of Samarkand. Their meeting took place at the famous Registan Square. The news agency UzA has published several photos of them together.

According to Olaf Scholz's itinerary in Samarkand, high-level talks will be held to discuss issues of further development of Uzbek-German multifaceted cooperation.

Special attention will be paid to expanding trade, economic, technological, and investment-financial partnerships, deepening cooperation with leading German companies and banks, continuing active interaction in the field of labor migration, ecology, education, healthcare, culture, tourism, and other areas. An exchange of views on topical aspects of regional cooperation will take place.

As part of the program, the President of Uzbekistan and the Federal Chancellor of Germany will also hold a joint meeting with business circles from both countries, according to official statements.
