Tashkent International Investment Forum Opens

Europe and Asia to Discuss the Future of Investment in Central Asia

The 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF-2025) officially opens today, with key events—including an investment exhibition—scheduled to begin on June 9. The forum’s main business program will take place in the Uzbek capital from June 10 to 12.

The TIIF traditionally brings together more than 3,000 participants from over 100 countries, including presidents, ministers, senior representatives of major financial institutions, politicians, economists, top executives of global corporations and investment funds, as well as experts in sustainable development, innovation, and digital transformation.

This year’s forum carries added weight with the participation of high-level European representatives. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is paying an official visit to Uzbekistan from June 8 to 10 at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in strategically important sectors such as industry and energy. The presidents of the two countries are expected to discuss the development of tourism and labor migration. Prime Minister Fico’s participation in the Tashkent International Investment Forum will be a key part of his visit, providing an opportunity to showcase Uzbekistan’s investment potential on the global stage.

In addition, from June 9 to 11, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan. He is expected to hold talks with the Uzbek leadership, sign a number of bilateral agreements, and take an active part in the forum’s proceedings.

Other key guests include delegations from EU countries such as Germany and France, as well as representatives of major Asian investors—Saudi Arabia, China, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey. These nations have consistently ranked among the top in terms of signed agreements at past editions of the forum.

Delegations from Russia and other Central Asian countries are also expected to attend.

The forum’s core themes span a wide range of economic and innovation-related areas. These include the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, industrial advancement (automotive, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering), water resource management, legal protections for investors, the growth of fintech and e-commerce, green energy and sustainable development, privatization and investment reforms, urban planning and infrastructure modernization, value chain development in the textile and chemical industries, as well as digitalization and artificial intelligence as new frontiers for business.

For the first time, the forum will feature an investment exhibition, where major private and local companies will present their projects, offering direct engagement opportunities with international investors.

On June 11, the third plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council under the President of Uzbekistan will also take place, with participation from the heads of leading global companies and financial institutions.

Over the past three years, the forum has served as a platform for signing 357 investment agreements totaling $44 billion. Of these, 57 projects have already been implemented, while construction and design work is underway on 263 others.

The Tashkent International Investment Forum 2025 thus reaffirms Uzbekistan’s status as a leading investment hub in Central Asia, bringing together a broad array of international participants to address current economic challenges and explore future opportunities.
