Two migrants detained following a mass brawl at the Prokshino residential complex in Moscow may face revocation of their Russian citizenship, according to Interior Ministry spokesperson Irina Volk via her Telegram channel.
The incident occurred on October 25 in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrugs (TiNAO). Dozens of foreign nationals participated, armed with shovels and metal rods. The fight broke out in the complex’s courtyard, where several dozen cars were parked; some vehicles were damaged. Videos of the brawl sparked widespread attention on social media and messaging platforms.
Residents’ chat groups criticized the complex’s security for failing to prevent the disorder and protect vehicles, though some supported the guards, noting it was physically impossible to control such a large crowd. One resident described hiding with her three children near parked cars, observing bloodstains on the asphalt. Participants dispersed upon the arrival of police.
Over 80 people were detained and taken to the police station. A criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 213 (“Hooliganism”) of the Russian Criminal Code, with 19 individuals named as defendants. Administrative proceedings were filed against the remaining 65 participants under various sections of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
The Interior Ministry emphasized that all foreign nationals involved will be held accountable under Russian law.
“Foreign citizens not subject to imprisonment will be deported and banned from re-entry in accordance with the law. The implementation of this measure is under the direct supervision of the Ministry’s leadership,” the official statement said.
The nationalities of the participants have not been disclosed.
